THE ORGANIZATION
The Green Planet Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting environmental awareness and fostering a sustainable ecosystem. We in collaboration with local residents and volunteers have established a dense forest spread over an area of 5800 square yards in Zirakpur. This forest is home to 1800 indigenous trees, comprising 30 different varieties carefully selected for their ecological significance and biodiversity value.

2. Biodiversity Enhancement: By planting indigenous tree species, we aim to promote biodiversity and create a habitat for local flora and fauna. The diverse varieties of trees in the forest foster a balanced ecosystem, supporting the presence of birds, insects, and small mammals.
3. Sustainable Development: The dense forest serves as a green lung for the city, improving its aesthetics and offering a recreational space for the community. The presence of green areas has a positive impact on the physical and mental well-being of residents.
4. Community Engagement: We actively engage with the local community, organizing awareness campaigns, workshops, and tree-planting drives. Through these initiatives, we aim to create a sense of ownership and responsibility among citizens towards environmental conservation.
Maintenance and Sustenance: The members of the Green Planet Society work tirelessly to ensure the proper maintenance and sustenance of the forests. Regular activities include watering, weeding, pruning, and monitoring the health of the trees. We conduct awareness programs to educate the community about the importance of forest conservation and encourage their participation in maintaining these green spaces.
